I disconnected one of my old Windows machines and replugged everything into EV800. To my surprise, it found all of the connections automatically on start up, except my LAN printer. The printer came online when I told Ubuntu my printer's address. A little experience with live "Hardy Heron" helped me make a smooth start up. At this point, I have been able to do everything on my Linux Box that I was doing on my Windows Box, and more. My Windows files moved to the Linux Box without a prolonged session of conversions, etc. While I am still learning, I am not deterred by my lack of knowledge for Ubuntu. Nice documentation! I have computers using both Windows and Mac OS. I was so sick of Windows and its instability and constant need for upgrades. My Mac rarely crashes and I have really enjoyed it for 'entertainment'. Because I really hate Window's Vista which is such a huge cumbersome sloth, I decided to go with Linux/Ubuntu and was only going by a few reviews that I had read. I needed a solid workhorse computer which was fast and stable. I received my EV600 after a short delay and as advertised I plugged it in, hooked up to the Internet and it immediately recognised my old HP all in one printer and worked more smoothly than any Dell computer I had ever owned. The wireless mouse and keyboard have been great and I just hooked up the speakers and the sound and video quality is amazing for a $600 machine. I am REALLY HAPPY with my EV600 and have NO HESITATION in recommending this machine to anyone. I thought having a Linux based system would be daunting and it is different but with a little patience things can be figured out and made to work! No lengthy setup, no expensive software purchases, endless installations, all-night battles with problems. Then I plugged in my printer.
